Kroll Advisory Solutions was retained by Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum Architects to complete planning and design services for a new 200,000 square foot cargo facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The $102 million cargo facility opened Dec. 27, 2000 and is one of the largest cargo terminal structures in the eastern U.S. The terminal is a three-story structure used primarily for an import and export cargo operation. The facility is comprised of office operations, cargo warehouse operations, and street side cargo operations. The facility has a total warehouse floor area of 17,065㎡ and is capable of handling 200,000 tons annually.
The new cargo terminal provides cargo handling services to the Global Alliance members of Skyteam Cargo such as Air France, Aeromexico and Czech Airlines.
