Kroll Expands Toronto Presence with Three Senior Hires
Top professionals enhance world-renowned investigative and risk and compliance capabilities
NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2011 – Kroll, the world’s leading risk consulting company, today announced three senior hires in its Toronto office, expanding the company’s presence in Canada. Peter McFarlane and Jennie Chan have joined the firm’s Business Intelligence and Investigations practice as managing directors. Deborah Gold has joined as a managing director with Kroll’s Risk & Compliance group.
McFarlane and Chan will lead a team of financial investigators based in Toronto. The team will conduct complex fraud and internal investigations for clients throughout the region. McFarlane and Chan will work closely with Kroll’s global financial investigations team located in New York, London, Hong Kong, Miami, Philadelphia, Singapore and Dubai.
Gold will lead Kroll’s Risk and Compliance business in Canada. The group provides a range of due diligence offerings specifically designed to satisfy know-your-customer and third party agent/vendor screenings required under various governments’ anti-money laundering and anti-corruption regulatory regimes, and utilizes people, process and technology to deliver solutions in a compliance auditable, time- and cost-effective way.

McFarlane, and Chan join Kroll from Navigant Consulting. McFarlane is a CAIFA and has more than 20 years of experience leading financial investigations. He previously spent seven years with Kroll in Toronto, most recently serving as a managing director, after seven years with a boutique investigative and forensic accounting firm. Prior to that, he worked at a Big Four accounting firm in Canada and the United Kingdom. Chan also is a CAIFA with more than 15 years of experience conducting financial investigations for public and private corporations, governments and regulatory and law enforcement agencies. She previously spent seven years with Kroll in its Toronto and Vancouver offices after working with a boutique investigative and forensic accounting firm. She began her career at a Big Four accounting firm in Canada.
Gold also joins Kroll from Navigant Consulting, where she led Toronto’s Business Intelligence and Research group. She brings more than 15 years of investigative experience to her new role leading the Risk & Compliance business in Canada. She previously spent seven years at Kroll in its Toronto office. Prior to that, she worked at a boutique investigative and forensic accounting firm and was a lawyer in private practice.
