Profile: Ernesto Carrasco

Ernesto Carrasco is a Managing Director and head of Kroll’s Mexico City office.  He specializes in investigations into corporate and financial fraud for clients in Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Chile.

Ernesto is an attorney with deep experience in criminal law and criminology in the public and private sectors. He has held management positions in government investigation agencies, including the National Office of the Attorney General, where he was Head of the Special Investigations Office.  In this role, Ernesto conducted investigations into corruption involving high-level civil servants, claims of human rights and international humanitarian law violations.
 

Ernesto previously was a Director in the Office of the Public Prosecutor with responsibility for the agency’s offices throughout Colombia. As a Director in the Public Prosecutor’s Office of International Affairs he secured abundant evidence from different Courts in the United States on drug trafficking related matters.  He also served as District Inspector, leading investigations into administrative corruption and deploying preventive internal control policies in the District’s agencies.

• Legal consulting. Ernesto has worked as an independent criminal attorney and as an advisor and consultant to domestic and international companies on matters relating to business investigations and intelligence.
• Investigations. Ernesto has led investigations into corporate and financial fraud, unfair competition, contraband and other practices that restrict free enterprise, for both private and government entities.
