Profile: Michael Millward

Mike Millward is a Managing Director and Leader of the Eurasia business of Kroll Risk & Compliance Solutions.  In this role, Mike has regional responsibility for everything from client development and management, local resource management, and quality of delivery to clients across Europe and Asia.

Mike transitioned from a similar position, Director of International Operations (London), with Corporate Risk International (CRI), which was acquired by Altegrity in 2010. Before joining CRI, he was Director of Security at a major US Investment bank for 10 years, during which time his role comprised geo-political and security threat assessments, investigations, due diligence and vendor screening, security of people, assets, and information, international travel security, executive protection, and crisis management response.
 

Earlier in his career, Mike was Security & Risk Manager for a major UK telecommunications company, where he spent nine years developing the firm’s risk management program. Before joining the company, Mike served 12 years in the Royal Air Force, with the majority of his assignments devoted to counterintelligence duties overseas.

Professional Experience

• Developed the security risk management and risk financing programs for a major UK telecoms company.
• Originated and developed the security risk management and crisis response programs for a major US Investment bank.
• Originated and developed the business intelligence and due diligence program for the same US Investment bank. 
• Founder member of the UK financial sector security forum to promote and share anti-fraud, anti-terrorism and corporate security best practice.
• Planned and coordinated the extraction of people and assets from hostile environments in the Middle East.
• Developed the KR&E profile, training & awareness programs for international clients.  Planned and participated in the safe recovery of a high-profile client kidnap victim in SE Asia and of a separate client’s ship and crew that had been hijacked by Somali pirates.
• Opened and developed the EMEA & Asia offices of Corporate Risk International, with focus on providing business intelligence and due diligence for clients operating in new and emerging markets.
